Advanced Surgery Center of Lancaster Safety Statement Regarding COVID-19

Safety and quality have always been two of the principles that we value most as an ambulatory surgical care provider. We wanted to educate you about the standards that we have developed to assure our patients and their families, our staff, physicians and vendors of the steps that we have taken to limit the risk of exposure to the novel coronavirus while best caring for our patients with painful and life-impacting neurosurgical and pain conditions.

• Every person that enters the facility will be screened with a temperature check and questionnaire about COVID exposure and symptoms:
  • Recent travel to high risk area
  • Contact with someone with the virus
  • Fever
  • Cough or shortness of breath
  • Sore throat or runny nose
  • Muscle aches
  • New loss of smell
• Every person will perform supervised hand-washing or alcohol-based sanitizer use after entry.
• Patients  will be required to use a mask to enter the facility.
• No visitors will be allowed to accompany patients into the facility.
  • Adult patient family members will not be allowed to enter the facility, and will be kept updated of the process throughout, and they will pick up the patient once well-recovered, unless there are exceptional circumstances such as issues with communication, disability, etc.
• Appropriate personal protective gear will be used in the operating rooms including the procedure specific use of N95 masks, face shields, and special anesthetic precautions among many other steps that we have taken in the interest of everyone’s safety.

While we understand that some of these measures may seem different than usual protocol, we believe that it is important to take every possible precaution to ensure the safety of everyone while always respecting privacy.
